Elvehjem

The Elvehjem neighborhood is located between I-90 and Stoughton Rd. to the east and west, and Cottage Grove Rd. and East Buckeye Rd. to the north and south. The are is named for Conrad Elvehjem, the thirteenth president of UW-Madison. A neighborhood association was founded in 1968, but not formally incorporated until 1989. The association hold many events, including an Easter Egg Hunt, July 4th Celebration, annual garage sale, and Sweetheart Dance. Elvehjem Park is adjacent to Elvehmjem School and Elvehjem Sanctuary, a nine acre sanctuary with 1.2 miles of walking trails and a Native American mound.
