Glendale Neighborhood Association

Glendale

The Glendale neighborhood is an area between Stoughton Rd. and Monona Dr. The neighborhood is primarily an area of homes dating to the 1950's, and was originally part of Blooming Grove during development. Currently, the neighborhood is home to the Edna Taylor Conservation Park, 56 acres owned by the city with 1.3 miles of trails, Oak Savanna and wetland restoration projects and a number of Native American effigy mounds. The Dean House Museum is also located in the neighborhood. The home was originally owned by Nathaniel Dean in 1856 as his Victorian country home. At the time, Dean owned a large portion of Blooming Grove, and his former home is currently the only historic house serving as a museum in Madison.
