Westmorland Neighborhood Association

The Westmorland neighborhood is located between Mineral Point Rd. on the north, Glenway St. on the east, Odana Rd. on the south, and S. Midvale Blvd. on the west. The neighborhood association hosts a winter play day, park clean up day, neighborhood garage sale, Santa visit and holiday house decorating contest.

The neighborhood is home to a Frank Llyoyd Wright historic home, the Jacobs House, built in 1937 at 441 Toepfer Ave. The original Jacobs House is said to be the first “Usonian” house, a group of homes built for middle income families. The home's owner, Herbert Jacobs, created the Wisconsin University Settlement Association in Milwaukee to help battle social and economic problems. The association provided families with clubs and classes in English literature, math and sewing. Wright later built a second home for Jacobs in Middleton, WI between 1947-49.
